A Southern Porch in the Pacific Northwest!

There is nothing better than a summer evening on the porch or as we're experiencing today, a summer thunderstorm!  This southern inspired porch here in the Pacific Northwest got a little facelift just in time to enjoy it all summer long - rain or shine!

It started with a little sanding and stain... a new darker color!

A little paint to give this old oak rocker a fun new life...

A new porch swing and some new cushions...

Now all it needs is a group of friends to fill the seats!

What would be included in your dream porch?

  1. This is a lovely porch. I like the bright colors - they look like summer! The only thing I would add is a lovely set of wind chimes. I grew up in rural PA and most of our porches were grey painted floors and blue painted ceilings. Not sure why they were that way, but that was the norm for me.

    1. Wind chimes could be a wonderful addition! Blue ceilings on porches have been popular all over the country for many years and for many reasons. Along the east coast, the Victorians liked to paint the exteriors with colors from nature and blue sky helped to extend the daylight hours.... there are other theories for other parts of the country, but that seems to be the prevailing theory!
